José Sarria (Málaga, 1960) is an author, essayist and literary critic. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Córdoba and the Royal Academy of Écija (Sevilla). He is the Director of the poetry review POÉTICAS, Director of the online review Hispanismo del Magreb, Co-Director of the Biblio­teca de Escritores Andaluces and literary consultant for the International Poetry Festival of Granada (FIP). He is a Founding Member of the Club de Amigos de Marruecos (incorporated into the Spani­sh Parliament), President of the Asociación de Amistad Andaluza-Marroquí - Foro Ibn Rushd, Secretary General of the Asociación de Escritores de Andalucía, lifetime member of the Jurado del Premio Andalucía de la Crítica and Secretary Gene­ral of the Asociación Internacional Humanismo Solidario. He is considered one of the most promi­nent specialists on the national level in the study of Hispano-Magrebí Literature, a fact which has led him to be a speaker in conferences and seminars in Spain, the Cervantes Institute, the Universities of Morocco and Tunisia, in the summer courses at the University of Málaga (UMA) and at the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía (UNJA). He has publi­shed twenty-eight books of poetry, narrative and essays. His work has been translated into Arabic, English, French, Italian, Romanian, Russian and Sephardi. It is found in more than fifty national and international anthologies. It is included in the Enciclopedia General de Andalucía. He has received the Medalla de Oro del Círculo Intercultural Hispa­no-Arabe. He is included in the Enciclopedia Gene­ral de Andalucía .
