Valparaíso Ediciones has been a bridge between cultures since its foundation. Some of the most important poets from the United States, like Maya Angelou, Rita Dove, Natasha Trethewey, Carolyn Forché, Sharon Olds, Jericho Brown, Charles Simic, Billy Collins, Kevin Young, Juan Felipe Herrera, Yusef Komunyakaa, Donald Hall and Mary Oliver, among others, have been published in a bilingual format in Spain, Mexico and Colombia. In a like fashion, Valparaíso Ediciones has introduced American readers to Spanish language poets such as Alfonsina Storni, Federico García Lorca, José Hierro, Ángel González and Luis García Montero.

We believe in poetry as an instrument of good, as a way of looking at the world from the vantage point of another. This otherness is the characteristic that defines us and is what we defend. Our defense of poetry is the defense of a universal voice that can bring together countries and human beings.

Patron Subscriptions are available at the following levels:

Friend of the Press: Ten titles from the publishing house and the annual catalog will be delivered to your door.
Publisher’s Associate: Ten titles from the publishing house and the annnual catalog will be delivered to your door. Your name or that of the person that you wish to honor will appear in the books of the Valparaíso Poetry Collection.
Editor's Circle: Everything included as a Publisher’s Associate plus you will receive the galley proof of a book autographed by the author. You will be invited to exclusive events.
Visionary: Everything included in the Editor’s Circle plus you will participate in the annual literary board meeting of Valparaíso as an advisor to the publishing house.
